In spite of fairly recent tensions and battles in the capital city, the electronic scene in Lithuania is far from dead. So is the booming festival scene, with 7 electronic music festivals (out of 20 in total for a population smaller than 3mil.) in summer 2019 alone. Revolution Festival is one of the best equipped troops in the country’s electronic and festival fronts. The only festival in the country that offers hardcore, Revolution also invites to explore the styles of jungle, reggae, techno, drum and bass, and psy trance, some of which I have been lately exploring myself.
So, it only made sense to join the young, ambitious, dedicated and dynamic team and help them promote the festival to thousands of music fans who have already discovered it. And especially those who haven’t. Content-wise, I did what I’m best at – short articles, press releases, SoMe captions and interviews.
In spite of my fairly recently peaked interest in techno and psy trance, I hadn’t written about these genres before, let alone jungle or D&B that are still quite alien to me. Therefore, joining Revolution was a pleasant challenge to describe new sounds as well as a great opportunity to see inner workings of what among the industry’s insiders is known as one of the most professionally conducted alternative festivals in Lithuania.
